Fun at the Zoos!

Well, not too long ago; there was a visitor named Gustav... And a little later in time, there was a visitor named Ike. During those times, we had decided not to evacuate during Gustav. So on the day that everyone was returning, we decided to have a family day and take the boys to the houston zoo.
A few weeks later, a new visitor came into town, which at that moment, we decided to evacuate at the last minute. We ended up staying with some friends ours who are wonderful people and very hospitable. We took that time to do anything needed of the church and then also to have some great family time; so one of those days we sat aside to take the kiddos to the Fort Worth Zoo... If you haven't gone, you should go and make a mini-vacation out of it. We had so much fun!

It's A First to Remember

I know it is hard to believe it; Judah is turning 1 next month. It seems like yesterday he was just born. I know all of us moms say that, but it's true. We hope to see you at his Birthday Party, where we will have our first run at sugar! Yea! So here is a little invite. (the bottom has been cropped as to not reveal our address =) )

Cooking with Solomon "Bam Bam"

We just recently started something new; "cooking time with Solomon." We decided that on family nights, we would begin to let Solomon cook something with us. This particular night, Michael wanted to do some cheese sticks. Solomon was oh so excited because he was going to get to help cook. Anyone who has had or has a 2 year old knows that this is an exciting moment for them because what used to be off limits is now "toddler world."
We had a great time with Solomon being a Lynd (for those who know Michael well =) ) narrating to us the whole time about what we were doing; because of course only he knew. After all of the preparation of the cheese sticks, it was time to move them over to the fryer...

If you know me very well, I like a clean kitchen. and cheese sticks of course are covered in bread crumbs, well... Needless to say, when we went to go to the counter, Solomon realized that his hands were dirty and began to clean them off how any toddler would; shaking them. Yes, all over my clean floor. So mommy was up very late that night sweeping and mopping, but of course, it was all worth it just to see his little, or should I say big eyes light up. Hope you enjoy the pics.

About the Family

After seeing other blogs; it seemed much easier than trying to keep up with MySpace, which if you know me and are a friend on ours, than you know I am not too good at that ... so ... This is for everyone who says . . . "I don't have any pictures" "Why don't you keep MySpace updated" "ETC". This seems much easier and hopefully I can keep up with it. I will make myself a note to check and update it once a week.

So, here is what is going on in our lifes:

In August of last year, we had another beautiful baby boy, Judah Ellison, and went back to the church we were at 3 years ago. Why you may ask (about the church, not the baby haha) It was all about God and not ourselves. A job opened that both our current pastor and pastor of our old church felt was for Michael, so we prayed and sought God. And God said go, so we did and it has been wonderful ever since. Wonderful to make great connections again with people who we missed, and wonderful to see God move in our lives and make us feel like family to our church quicker than we ever thought possible. We do however love and miss our church family at COTRBC but we know that God has a plan and He will succeed...and we of course did not want to go against God and be in the way of that plan. It is definitely GREAT to hear what God is doing at COTRBC and we are so excited for you guys!

Right now for the summer, I am currently doing graphics on the side for various churches and companies and of course staying home with my kiddos. "Dream job, I know" Solomon will be 3 in November and Judah will be 1 in August..."I know I can 't believe it either and I see them each minute of the day. Solomon is my nonstop talker...he is a Lynd (haha) and Judah, well he is my mommy's boy. Both the boys are in love with each other. They play together great and always love on each other, with the occassional "that's mine" coming from the bedroom. They are great kids though...the proof that prayer really does work!

Well, that's all for now, I am sure if you have made it this far that you are tired of reading, so more updates and fun stuff to come. Blessings to all and Remember that God is always working behind the scenes to make a way to bless you, just position yourself for it.

My First Hair Style

Hello Out There! I just recently went to my mom and dads hairstylist in Houston. Ronnie, who owns the Blue Mambo. It was great! I got to sit in Daddy's lap and get hair all over him; it was definitely a funny adventure. I know, you may not see that much of a change, but I got a lot cut off. It was just in layers. Ronnie is from Scotland and has this great accent, and when we walk in, we are greeted as: Oh look, its the grunge pastors! L-O-V-E IT! So next time you are in Houston and want a great hair style, look up Ronnie at the Blue Mambo; you can't go wrong.
